Residential Carpenters at Weaver are responsible for delivering on our mission of Care that Shows, combining highly attentive client awareness with skilled carpentry to provide excellent results. Our teams carry out complex and highly detailed renovations in occupied homes, build new dream houses from the ground up, and perform repairs and maintenance for discriminating clients who trust us with their keys.

 Responsibilities Include:

• Skilled construction including demolition, framing, concrete, siding, windows/doors & interior/exterior trim
• Proficient usage of specialty hand tools, power tools, and positioning equipment
• Maintain and organize company tools, equipment, vehicles and job trailers
• Uphold jobsite safety and cleanliness standards
• Execute final punch lists as directed by your foreman
• Work safely and do what is necessary to keep others working safely throughout the company
• Drive safely and do what is necessary to keep others driving safely throughout the company

Our teams work outdoors, on elevated surfaces, within rapidly progressing low-slop projects, detailed standing seam jobs, and in complex residential settings. 

 Responsibilities Include:

• Work under the direction of the Roofing Foreman on the crew to which you are assigned
• Unload materials and tools from company and vendor trucks and place them wherever directed
• Tear off old roof material
• Prepare and clean roof surfaces for application of new roofing material
• Join with the team to solve problems and install materials according to training you have received
• Uphold jobsite safety, quality and cleanliness standards
• Work safely and do what is necessary to keep others working safely throughout the company
• Drive safely and do what is necessary to keep others driving safely throughout the company

The Commercial Construction Estimator is responsible for developing cost estimates on assigned commercial construction projects, primarily special projects and facility maintenance, as required/requested by clients’ documents and Sales Lead.

Responsibilities Include:  

• Efficiently prepare accurate estimates and proposals for commercial construction projects.
• Prepare cost analysis by reviewing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
• Create proposals and work scope for commercial special projects and facility maintenance.
• Review and interpret construction documents, including plans, drawings and contracts.
• Receive and analyze bids from subcontractors.
• Execute quantity take-offs from construction documents.
• Develop approximations when predetermined standard(s) are not available.
• Understand building codes, municipality regulations, and permitting and incorporate them into the estimation process.
• Research and document current pricing for identified materials.
• Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, township requirements, etc.
• Lead job handoff meetings with the production team.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:  

• Consistent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to ideate creative solutions
• Customer serviced focused, with the ability to maintain a high level of communication, flexibility to meet needs, and capable of diffusing emotional interactions.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex and detailed information in a clear and concise manner.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with a high comfort of speaking to a range of people in both large and small groups. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Project, and estimating software, preferably Sage 300.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply this information in estimating and project management
• Extensive experience in construction environment, with knowledge of building codes, ANSI/ADA, and general OSHA compliance regulations.

Education and/or Professional Experience:

• 1-2 years of post-secondary education in construction management or a related field, or the equivalent in commercial estimating preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in a construction related field preferred.

Physical Demands:

In this role, the employee will frequently sit or stand, use a computer with a mouse and keyboard, view and focus on screens and blueprints, occasionally traverse uneven surfaces, climb stairs, stoop, reach, and carry or lift up to 50lbs.

Work Environment:

This position will primarily work in a climate-controlled office, with occasional visits to indoor and outdoor active construction sites in all types of weather.
